The I'D S features Petzl's Anti-Panic function and the Auto-Lock system to create a rope access descender that greatly minimises human error. When descending, the Anti-Panic function locks the rope if the lever is pushed too far, preventing users from instinctively holding the lever fully open in the event of a fall. The Auto-Lock system of the Petzl I'D S allows users to position themselves easily by automatically locking the rope once the handle is released. Once locked, the rope can be taken up without having to manipulate the handle. The Petzl I'D S rope access descender also features a safety gate that allows the rope to be installed with the device remaining connected to the harness.
