Arc'teryx Atom LT Hoody Women
The Arc’teryx Atom LT Hoody Women is a synthetically insulated jacket designed to keep you warm, dry, and protected in changeable weather conditions. Weighing just 360g, the Arc’teryx Atom LT Hoody Women is streamlined, lightweight, and highly packable, with key features that ensure versatile performance with lightweight functionality.
The Arc’teryx Atom LT Hoody features all-round Coreloft™ Insulation that is not only lightweight but also hydrophobic. This means it will dry much quicker if it gets wet under a soaking hardshell, and also gives it the ability to retain heat even if the synthetic insulation becomes wet. This combined with the wind-resistant taffeta shell with a DWR treatment is invaluable if you are caught out without a rain jacket in heavy rain or snow, providing a basic layer of weather protection with significantly less heat loss should the jacket become completely wet. For mobility and stretch, the side panels and underarms feature Polartec® Power Stretch® with Hardface® Technology that also adds durability, working to keep you unrestricted and cooler during intense mountain activities, and protect your jacket from rock abrasion in the most prone areas. Also features an insulated, helmet-compatible StormHood™ with the snug fit of the ScubaHood™ for full weather protection.
Changeable and unpredictable weather situations demand a jacket that can perform across a wide variety of situations. The Atom LT Hoody Women can be used as both an inner under a hardshell and as an outer in milder conditions, with technical features that greatly increase its ability to keep you warm and dry. Lightweight and packable, this is a jacket that won’t weigh you down, and will have your back if things don't go quite as planned.
|MAIN MATERIAL(S)||Tyono™ 20 denier shell with DWR treatment (100% nylon), Polartec® Power Stretch® with Hardface® Technology (88% polyester, 12% elastane, 230 g/m²)|
|INSULATION MATERIAL||Coreloft™ 60 (60 g/m²)|
Synthetic non-woven insulation that’s durable, resilient, and lightweight, with the ability to dry quickly and retain warmth when wet. As Coreloft™ state, "Polyester staple fibres of mixed sizes are crimped to trap air and retain warmth. Large denier fibres resist compaction and allow the use of looser weave face and lining fabrics, increasing overall air permeability." The hydrophobic nature of Coreloft™ allows for long-term resilience and loft recovery, increasing the longevity of the garment. A solid all-round insulation choice with great loft retention that’s very compressible.
Tyono™ 20 Wind-Resistant Shell
Premium lightweight taffeta with mechanical stretch. Arc’teryx say they chose Toray Fabrics® out of hundreds of options because “for their knowledge of materials and quality craftsmanship.” Taffeta fabrics are known for their luxurious feel, ability to be compressed, their overall resilience, and the ability to turn aside wind. Fine denier yarns allow for ultra-lightweight fabric configuration of the Tyono™ 20 that is highly wind-resistant and strong.
Polartec® Power Stretch® with Hardface® Technology Underarms and Side Panels
Moisture-wicking and breathable Polartec® fabric with increased durability and range of motion. Polartec say that “elastic base materials can stretch during movement, but lack the tensile strength to recover their original shape, becoming permanently damaged.” Power Stretch® thus utilises elastic fibers with enhanced resilience to make a performance-fit stretch fabric that can take the repeated strain of demanding physical activities, creating a longer-lasting garment. Even greater abrasion-resistance with Hardface® Technology. (You can watch a video here to see an abrasion test of Hardface® vs. standard fabrics.)
Durable Water Repellent
For those of you that are unfamiliar with the DWR Treatment, it is an ultra-thin coating applied to technical garments as the first line of defence against wet weather. This coating creates thousands of densely packed polymer “hairs” that prevent water from reaching the surface of the jacket and encourage water to merge together and bead off.
Helmet-Compatible Stormhood™ and Scubahood™
The Arc'teryx helmet compatible Stormhood™ is designed to provide the ultimate protection in cold or wet weather. The laminated brim and hood adjusters secure tightly and deliver full coverage without restricting movement or visibility. Scubahood™ provides an ultimately snug fit of the head.
